La Greenwoods English Tearoom sul canale Singel è stata fondata il 15 settembre 1988 dalle australiane Gabrielle Mary Wheeler e Janet Isabel Pratt, è stato un successo immediato!
Nel giugno 2010 Daniel Post ha rilevato e rinvigorito il locale, e ha introdotto alcune classiche opzioni per la colazione inglese che riconoscerai, Eggs Benedict chiunque? Due anni dopo, nel 2012, è stata aperta una seconda sede sul Keizersgracht. La gente ha detto "Hip Hip Hooray!" Per un locale più grande, lo stesso menu e ora ... finalmente; Greenwoods ha alcol!
