Greenwoods abrió sus puertas por primera vez en el canal Singel de Ámsterdam el 15 de septiembre de 1988. El restaurante se hizo famoso por ser el lugar de moda para desayunar, almorzar, comer y tomar el té en la ciudad. En junio de 2010, el holandés Daniel Post se hizo cargo y revitalizó el local, introduciendo algunas opciones clásicas de desayuno que seguro reconocerás, ¿alguien quiere huevos Benedict? Dos años después, en 2012, se inauguró un segundo local en Keizersgracht, Ámsterdam. Fue entonces cuando Jen Nelson, una escocesa, se unió al equipo. Jen se convirtió en gerente general y gestionó ambos locales de Ámsterdam. En 2020, surgió la oportunidad de abrir un tercer local en Edimburgo y de que Jen regresara a casa, llevándose consigo parte de Greenwoods. En mayo de 2021, Greenwoods abrió sus puertas en Frederick Street, Edimburgo.
Nos enorgullecemos de utilizar ingredientes locales de primera calidad y de elaborar nuestros productos frescos en nuestras instalaciones siempre que sea posible. Y, por supuesto, también hemos traído con nosotros nuestras raíces holandesas. Lo encontrará en el menú y en el propio restaurante. ¿Le apetece una tradicional tarta de manzana holandesa (appeltaart)?

Edinburgh welcomed us with open arms, and despite navigating a pandemic and the many challenges that small businesses continue to face, we’ve fought our way through it all. Looking back, we’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved together.
As many of you know, I also welcomed twins last year…which brought a whole new set of challenges and joys! They say it takes a village to raise children, and I truly believe the same applies to running a business.
To the entire Greenwoods team, past and present — We simply would not be here without the amazing people who have been a part of this journey over the last five years. You embraced our vision, shared our passion, and cared for the business as if it were your own. Your hard work, loyalty and belief in Greenwoods helped shape it into more than I ever imagined possible.
