Hospitality the way
it used to be done.
Three venues. One set of values. Good food, a proper welcome, and the kind of unhurried service that keeps people coming back for 38 years.
Thirty-eight years, same welcome.
Greenwoods started in Amsterdam in 1988. A corner table, a full breakfast, and the kind of place where the staff knew your order before you sat down. That hasn’t changed.
From Singel 103 we grew — first to Scotland in the historic city of Edinburgh and then to Middelburg, in the heart of Zeeland. Three very different places, run the same way: with care, without rush, and with a menu built around doing things properly, with quality ingredients and great flavours.
We do breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. We've done it in the same spirit for 38 years. Come and see why.
Three venues, one standard.
Amsterdam
Amsterdam Singel
Singel 103 · On the canal
On the Singel, facing the water. Canal-side tables when the sun's out, and the sort of brunch that tends to turn one hour into three.

Edinburgh
Frederick Street · New Town
The maroon frontage has been on Frederick Street since 2021. The geraniums come back every year. The welcome hasn't changed.

Zeeland
Middelburg
Plein 1940 · Zeeland
Bright rooms, warm ochre walls, and a menu that leans into whatever the local market has had a good week for. One of those places where you sit down and forget what time it is.
Visit Middelburg →Sustainability
At Greenwoods, we believe great food should have a positive impact on both our guests and on the environment. Sustainability is at the heart of the decisions we make, and we’re continually looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint as we review our products, produce, suppliers and day-to-day processes.
Some of the steps we’ve already taken include:
- Using recyclable and responsibly sourced packaging and paper products.
- Providing straws and extra napkins only on request to help reduce unnecessary waste.
- Choosing locally sourced produce wherever possible, while preparing as much as we can fresh and in-house.
- Avoiding bottled and canned products that require unnecessary long-distance transportation wherever practical.
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but we know sustainability is a journey, not a destination. As we continue working towards our goal of becoming a net zero business, we’ll keep looking for new ways to improve.
Our Six Pillars
Everything we do at Greenwoods is built around six core principles. They guide the way we source our ingredients, prepare our food and welcome every guest through our doors.
Freshness
We prepare our dishes using quality ingredients, ensuring every meal is fresh and flavourful.
High-quality tea & coffee
From your first morning coffee to your afternoon tea, we take pride in serving carefully selected blends, expertly prepared by our team.
Seasonal produce
We celebrate the best of each season by sourcing fresh produce whenever it’s at its peak, creating menus that reflect quality, flavour and provenance.
Excellent service
A warm welcome and attentive, friendly service are at the heart of the Greenwoods experience. We want every guest to feel special from the moment they arrive.
Quality & atmosphere
We’ve created spaces that are comfortable, stylish and inviting. A place where you can relax, catch up with friends, celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy great food and drink.
